Volunteer Spotlight: Jenny Brusselback

Volunteer Spotlight: Jenny Brusselback

At French International, we are proud to have parents dedicated to positively shaping our school and enriching the lives of our students. Volunteering involves the entire family in a student’s educational life. Additionally, service is part of the IB educational philosophy as we teach students that we have a shared responsibility to our connected global community.

Jennifer and Nate Brusselback joined French International in 2022 when their son Ben enrolled in the sixth-grade French track. Jenny began as a Grade Parent and is this year’s Parent Partnership Middle School Coordinator. Jenny provides guidance and support to Middle School parents and families. This role is essential to create connections between families and French International teachers and administrators through grade parents’ gatherings and social events. It takes the dedication of committed volunteer leaders like Jenny to continue making French International a supportive and welcoming environment.

What drew you to volunteering for the Parent Partnership?

"I got involved with the Parent Partnership because I’m passionate about building a strong community. I wanted to help connect families with teachers and create fun, supportive events that make the school experience better for everyone."

What do you enjoy the most about your role as a volunteer? Any particularly fond memories?

"What I enjoy most about my role is the relationships I’ve built with other parents and staff. My fondest memories are meeting the parent coordinators for coffee; those moments have really helped me connect and collaborate with the team in a meaningful way."

What message would you like to share with our community about the importance of volunteers at French International?

"Volunteering at French International has been a wonderful experience for me. It’s not just about helping out; it’s also about connecting with people and staying in the loop with what’s happening on campus. I’d encourage others to get involved because it’s a fantastic way to build relationships and stay engaged with the school community. Your participation makes a big difference and helps create a supportive environment for everyone."

Thank you to Jenny for her time and dedication!
