Preschoolers Study Shapes and Patterns

Preschool students are exploring the central idea of “Patterns help us understand our world.” This means a dive into patterns, shapes, and stories.

During this unit, they have explored similarities and differences between different versions of the same story. The students noticed what ideas or events occurred in each story and where things varied.

Additionally, they learned shapes and sizes, especially comparing size with what’s big, medium, and small. They’ve had opportunities to create their own patterns using shapes, colors, and different-sized items.

Finally, they’ve been working on letter recognition, especially recognizing the letters in their names.

Our preschoolers are learning and growing every day. With the well-researched French early childhood curriculum combined with the IB framework, our preschoolers are learning to make sense of the world around them, understand relationships, and prepare their minds for higher-order thinking.
