October Global Mindset Moments

Throughout the year, we are sharing weekly Global Mindset Moments on social media to demonstrate how our mission is playing out in our school and how we are fulfilling our Strategic Plan. Here are the October Global Mindset Moments:

Global Mindset Moment: ACE Week comes to an end today. This week, students have used fall activities to collaborate, inquire, and explore concepts. From carving pumpkins and brainstorming creative ways to use the insides to exploring the forest and thinking about why leaves change to producing fall-themed multimedia projects, it's been a great week!

Global Mindset Moment: Kindergarteners got a visit from Dr. Nagra this week. She is a French International parent and a licensed psychologist. Kindergarteners are learning about their needs, feelings, and how they express themselves. Dr. Nagra talked about anger, how it's normal to feel angry, and how to cope with those feelings. We're grateful to have community members who share their expertise and teach important life skills to our students.

Global Mindset Moment: On Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday this week, we had our IB evaluation visit. This was the first time in our school's history that both our Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) were evaluated together. The evaluation process started with a year-long self-study where we evaluated our programs, learning, environment, and purpose. We've aligned our practices with our mission and strategic plan and set goals for how we want to grow as a school. Being an IB World School is at the core of who we are at French International and we're proud of the hard work our faculty, staff, students, and parents put in to make this evaluation a success.

Global Mindset Moment: In September, middle schoolers explored the IB trait of principled. Last week, kindergarteners joined the middle schoolers for an assembly where students of all ages shared what it means to be principled. Middle school students who demonstrated being principled were also given awards. Building relationships across grade levels and creating an inclusive environment is part of what we strive to do through our united mission and vision.
