November Campus Transformation Update
November 2024 was a significant month in the French International campus transformation as the Maternelle building permit was approved and Grow With Us: The Campaign for French International reached the $2 million mark.
We received notice in mid-November that the permit was approved by the City of Portland and that we could begin construction on the new Maternelle buildings. Our contractor, Carbon Group, is mobilizing their team and doing the preliminary site work as the first steps of the build. We did have to submit one small building permit revision to the city of Portland, but this does not affect the ability to start the Maternelle build.
As a reminder, the Maternelle buildings will be located on the southwest corner of campus, where Satellite Three used to sit. These buildings will house TPS, preschool, pre-k, and kindergarten classrooms, as well as other important programmatic spaces.
We are also excited about the progress Grow with Us: The Campaign for French International has made this fall. We have surpassed the $2 million mark with 42 donors. Our campaign continues to have conversations with leadership donors as we work towards our $8 million goal. This transformational project will enhance the educational capabilities of our school and would not be possible without the generosity of our entire community.
