Jewish American Heritage Month

Jewish American Heritage Month

May is Jewish American Heritage Month in the United States, a month-long celebration that highlights the rich history and diverse achievements of Jewish Americans across various fields. French International celebrated the month, led by the members of the Jewish American Heritage Month Committee.

The committee distributed a Jewish American Heritage Month Tool Kit with resources for teachers and students. They made slides for the main lobby showcasing Jewish celebrities and important figures in history.

The committee also created a display in the main building staircase where people could share a fact they know about Jewish people, Jewish culture, and Jewish Heritage. They created a scavenger hunt around campus featuring Jewish “Did you know?” facts, allowing the community to learn more about what it means to be Jewish.

The Jewish American Heritage Month committee is one of ten committees formed to recognize, honor, and celebrate different cultures at French International. The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) committee developed the plan for Heritage Month celebrations, which is part of the strategic plan pillar of people. The celebrations have been a school-wide success as we incorporate different cultures, languages, and traditions into our educational programming.
