French International Welcomes Grandparents and Special Friends

French International Welcomes Grandparents and Special Friends

On November 22, more than 500 guests came to French International for Grandparents and Special Friends Day.

Maternelle guests visited in the morning, starting in the gym with light refreshments and a presentation. The preschool, pre-k, and kindergarten classes performed songs for the attendees before everyone dispersed to visit classes. Each class did something unique with their visitors, including games, art, songs, French lessons, and classroom tours.

In the afternoon, we welcomed Lower and Middle School grandparents and special friends. There were song performances in French, English, Spanish, and Mandarin. The eighth graders also gave a special sneak peek into their January performance of Moana. After the presentation, the guests headed to classrooms to see students in action. Again, the activities varied depending on the teacher and grade level, but the grandparents and special friends got to see a snapshot of the exciting things that happen in our classrooms on a daily basis.

Grandparents and Special Friends Day is a celebration of the role models and community members in our students’ lives. It allows our extended community to see students in action and celebrate what makes French International such a special place.

The day would not have been possible without the hard work of the staff and volunteers who helped the day run smoothly. Thank you to everyone who supported the event and made the day a success.
