French International Welcomes Visitors for the French Inspection

French International Welcomes Visitors for the French Inspection

French International had its French Inspection on November 7 and 8. The inspection is a quality audit of how we implement the French curriculum set by the Ministère de l’Education Nationale de la Jeunesse et des Sports (MENJS) in all programs from Maternelle through Middle School.

Two inspectors visited – one who evaluated the Middle School and one for Maternelle and Lower School. They sat in on at least one class from every grade level and visited each subject area in the Middle School. The inspectors spent time with the student support teams in Maternelle, Lower School, and Middle School as well.

The inspectors met with French International parents representing each division and spent time with students in kindergarten through eighth grade. They also connected with Trustees and French International administrators.

The visit also included a tour of campus visiting some of the spaces that make French International unique like the STEAM lab, Web Radio recording studio, and the forest.

While the full report from the visit won’t come until June 2024, the initial feedback was positive. The inspectors mentioned the strengths of our school include:

  • The clear value brought by the French curriculum to all that we do.
  • The access to nature and how we use it to strengthen and extend the learning for all of our students.
  • A high-performing teaching team consistent throughout the three departments and a strong leadership team.
  • Ambitious and bold goals for the future through a clear and strategic vision.

The inspectors will make suggestions and help ensure French International is a strong representative for French Education in an immersion context. The French programs are central to our identity, and being part of the French network continues to improve our curriculum and fosters global connections.
