April Global Mindset Moments

April Global Mindset Moments

Throughout the year, we share weekly Global Mindset Moments on social media to demonstrate how our mission is playing out in our school and how we are fulfilling our Strategic Plan. Here are the March Global Mindset Moments:

Global Mindset Moment (April 17, 2026): Collaboration in action! First and second grade spent time in the forest observing nature and using it to inspire art. Students were paired with someone from a different grade to work on their communication and creativity together. Our forest is an incredible educational resource that allows us to take learning outside the classroom. Pairing students with other grades also helps them learn and grow together.

Global Mindset Moment (April 10, 2026): This week, our preschool and pre-k students welcomed a special visit from the Beaverton Police K9 unit! Preschoolers, who are learning about different jobs, were excited to meet a working dog and discover how K9s help in the community. Meanwhile, our pre-k students are beginning their unit exploring how living things have needs. They started with learning about the criteria that make something living, including our four-legged visitors. Connecting classroom learning to real-world experiences helps students better understand big ideas and sparks curiosity beyond the classroom.

Global Mindset Moment (April 3, 2026): Carnaval is one of our favorite school traditions. Our Maternelle students create beautiful hats and march in a parade around campus, accompanied by The Beat Goes On Marching Band. Lower School and Middle School students cheered along the route, bringing our school community together. This event gives our Maternelle students a chance to learn about global holidays and traditions in a fun way. The celebration ended with a dance party in the gym for Maternelle and Lower School students. It was a blast for everyone!
