School-Based Financial Aid

French International uses Clarity to provide objective, equitable, third-party financial needs assessments. More than 20% of our students receive school-based financial aid, which is determined by a family’s demonstrated need. Each application is confidentially evaluated on its own unique merits.

Application Process

The financial aid application process is separate from the application for admission. To be eligible for consideration for a financial aid award, families are required to:

  • Complete one financial aid application per child through Clarity, including required tax documents and a $60 application fee.
  • Be in good standing on all debt obligations to the School (applies to current French International families only).
  • In cases of divorced or separated parents, submit two separate financial aid applications and fees (one per parent, per child), regardless of custody or financial responsibility.

Application Deadlines

  • December 15, 2025: current French International families re-enrolling for the 2026-27 school year
  • February 1, 2026: families applying for fall 2026-27 admission

If your family has more than one financial aid application deadline, we require that you submit your application for all children by the earliest deadline.

How to Apply

To apply for financial aid, create an account and complete and submit a financial aid application– including all required tax documents and a $60 non-refundable application fee– directly within the secure Clarity portal.

Required Supporting Documents

In Clarity, families can authorize the IRS to automatically attach their relevant tax documents to their financial aid application. This authorization is valid for three years’ worth of documents.

With the 2026-27 financial aid application, we understand that the most recent tax documents available will be from 2024. The French International Financial Aid Committee will make tentative awards based on that information until 2025 taxes have been submitted, at which time the awards will be confirmed and finalized. If you are expecting a significant change in circumstances on your 2025 tax information, please indicate this in the notes section of your application.

A financial aid application is not considered complete without the supporting tax documents.

Award Consideration Guidelines

In reviewing the allocation of financial aid resources, the French International Financial Aid Committee considers the following criteria for each applicant family:

  • Financial resources and circumstances
  • Ability to pay tuition and fees as determined by the independent financial analysis of information provided by the Clarity application
  • Whether expenses include tuition paid to institutions other than French International
  • Commitment to independent, immersion education
  • Cultural diversity
  • Full-day or half-day enrollment
  • Adherence to deadlines

Families applying for school-based financial aid who are also eligible for the bourses scolaires (financial aid from the French government for French citizens) must apply for the bourses scolaires in order to be considered for school-based aid awards.
